What to work on with your student during the month of May:

We have been learning about the silent “bossy” E that makes other vowels say their names. 

Hop becomes hope

Rip becomes ripe

Mad becomes made

Bit becomes bite

Cut becomes cuteAnd so on…..

I am sending a set of word cards home that can be used for “Go Fish” or “Memory” or any other game you make up. 

The kids have liked these types of cards in the past, and we haven’t done any for awhile. 

To help your child in math, practice counting coins together, and also practice telling time.  I suggest buying your child an inexpensive watch (not digital) and referring to it often.
